Some FAQs from our clients…

As therapists who deliver Lymphatics Massage and Compression treatments, we hear the same questions regularly. We wanted to cover these in our article to help you make a decision on whether this is the right treatment for you. These are the most common but if you have one that isn’t here, please reach out to us and we would be happy to help!

What should I do to prepare for a session?

We recommend drinking between 3 and 4 glasses of water before your treatment and a further 3 – 4 glasses after treatment. This will help to assist in the detoxification process.

What is Lymphatic and Compression Therapy

Lymphatics and compression therapy is a gentle and effective way to reduce swelling, improve circulation, and promote healing in the body. It involves applying pressure to the areas where lymph nodes are located, such as the face, arms, chest, abdomen, and legs. This helps to stimulate the lymphatic system, which is responsible for removing excess fluid, toxins, and waste products from the tissues. Lymphatics and compression therapy can benefit people with various conditions, such as lymphedema, chronic venous insufficiency, post-surgical swelling, and cellulite. It can also enhance the immune system, relieve stress, and improve skin health.

What should I expect during my session?

If you are looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating treatment that can improve your overall well-being, lymphatics and compression therapy may be a great option for you. At our clinic, we have experienced and qualified therapists who can provide you with a personalized and professional service. You will be able to enjoy a comfortable and soothing environment, with soft lighting, music, and aromatherapy. You will also be covered with a sheet or towel to ensure your privacy and warmth. Many of our clients report feeling refreshed and energized after their sessions.

How long is a session?

The duration of a lymphatics and compression therapy session depends on your individual condition and needs. Our therapists will conduct a thorough assessment of your situation and create a customized treatment plan for you. A typical session lasts between 60 to 80 minutes, if you choose to combine lymphatic drainage massage with compression therapy. This is a comprehensive and effective way to enhance the results of the treatment. However, you can also opt for lymphatic drainage massage alone, which can take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the areas of concern. We will advise you on the best option for you based on your goals and preferences.

How many sessions should I have?

Lymphatics and compression therapy is a long-term investment in your health and well-being. To achieve the best results, we recommend that you have one session per week for about 5 to 6 weeks. This will help you to reduce swelling, improve circulation, promote healing, and enhance the immune system. After this initial period, you will need a maintenance plan that will keep your lymphatic system functioning optimally. The maintenance plan will be tailored to your specific health goals and concerns, and it will vary depending on your condition and lifestyle. Our therapists will advise you on the best frequency and duration of your sessions, as well as any other tips and recommendations to support your treatment. Your lymphatic system is as unique as you are, and we are here to help you take care of it.

How will I feel after a session?

Most clients find our sessions to be very relaxing. Everyone is unique, and responses may differ. Post-treatment, some clients- feel energised while others feel they need to rest. You may experience an increase in bladder and bowel movement. Some report a mild detox reaction as toxins are naturally released through the bodies pathways. Be aware that this is temporary and will subside in time. We will always start off slowly, with ongoing assessment of each individual response to the detoxification. We will adjust your treatment program as necessary.

How long do the detoxification effects and headaches last?

This period of time is dependent on a few factors. These include how toxic your body is, your overall health and diet. It is a temporary effect. An improvement in your wellness is what you have to look forward to. Upping your water intake will help to flush toxic and metabolic waste a lot quicker.

Will this help me to lose weight?

Weight loss and an improvement in the appearance of your skin can most definitely happen with treatment. In addition to your treatment, we suggest that consistent use of the lymphatic dual action glove will have an impact too. Incorporating regular usage into your daily lifestyle will make a difference. It is also dependent on your lifestyle, diet, and if you have a compromised lymphatic system. Consistency is key to the results you will see.
